scorpions-world-tour-2016

Today music has become a big part of our lives. We wake up and turn on music; we listen to the music when we travel or when we do our morning run. Regardless of age and gender, people enjoy listening to their favorite singers and music bands and don’t imagine their lives without it. However, there are performers who make it to the history. Even if you are not a rock or metal music fan you should have heard about Scorpions, a famous rock band founded in Germany in 1960s. It has been around for more than 50 years and they are still on stage performing their songs and triggering precious memories of many people. Their songs, like “Wind of Change” or “Send Me an Angel” are still on the radios which is a recognition of a true singing talent. The band has a long history and now they are in the World Tour 2016 traveling around the countries and sharing their talents with people who love their music.

What Is This World Tour 2016 About?

The formation of the rock band ended in 1973 while their raise to fame as well as commercial success period stretches between 1974 and 1992. All that the Scorpions do today can be called later days activity. Obviously, despite their legendary status the band will never experience the same amount of success as it did in the middle of 1980s. But that doesn’t mean that the rock band today is the bunch of old guys doing nothing but coming on stage to sell themselves and recall the good old days. For example, the release of Humanity-Hour I seems to have caused some new fans to follow the band. A lot of people even were asking if Humanity-Hour II was going to be released. So the rock band is still alive. Obviously, it has evolved a lot and is not the same as it used to be but that is a normal process for the group of people who have been singing for 50 years. And the proof that the rock band is still alive is their latest world tour – 50th anniversary/Return to Forever which is still to come to many cities in 2016.

Before the Return to Forever tour ever started, the members of the Scorpions announced in 2010 that their Get Your Sting and Blackout World Tour would be the last one before retirement. However, they have changed their plans and retracted the decision. After that the world has seen the Final Sting World Tour in 2011-2012 and Rock ‘n’ Roll Forever Tour in 2013-2014. After this the Return to Forever/50th Anniversary World Tour came to life.

On October 23, 2014 Klaus Meine, Scorpions' leader and spokesman, talked to the fan-club Crazyscorps, and said that the new record was going to be published in 2015. It was meant to be released in the dates of the band's 50th anniversary. The new record was supposed to contain newly recorded versions of songs that have never been published but it turned out that the record also contained new material created between 2011 and 2014. The album was recorded in Sweden. Its producers were Martin Hansen and Mikael Nord Andersson. It was a notable event because the band’s drummer James Kottak returned to play drums on the new record after he left the Scorpions in 2014 for rehabilitation. This new album (Return to Forever) was finally released in the end of February in 2015. Later on it was announced that Mikkey Dee would from Motorhead will play drums instead of James Kottak in a run of shows in the USA. That’s how the 50th Anniversary Tour came to exist. In case you are interested in the event, here are the tour’s setlist:

The Return to Forever Tour: Progress

The Scorpions have just played a great concert in San Antonio, Texas (the United States of America) on May 29. People looked delighted both during and after the concert. If you take time to read reviews about the show, you will regret you didn’t make it. The rock band seems to have the same great energy on stage as they used to have 20-30 years ago. People who love rock would find the entire event quite awesome. Most people who were there admit that the Scorpions sounded as good as ever being very entertaining on stage. Some were disappointed though because they wished the band would play more of their hits. But even such a downside for them didn’t change the good impression of the show.

The plan of the tour is now to go to Mexico City in the beginning of June. From there on the rock band will travel to Switzerland, Denmark, France, Portugal and Spain. This is the schedule for June and beginning of July. Till the end of the summer, the Scorpions will be travelling around Europe, including such countries as Finland, Germany, France, Romania, etc. Starting from September the fans in South America will also have a chance to attend the concert of the legendary rock band. As a matter of fact, the pre-sale of tickets for South America concerts should be open by now. After the South America tour leg, the band will return to Germany to finalize their 50th Anniversary tour in such cities as Cologne, Leipzig, Frankfurt, Hamburg and Berlin. So if you love the band or can call yourself a rock fan, then you should probably do everything you can to be at one of their concerts! This should be truly an unbelievable experience.
